FUNDING PROJECTS:
Seed Money and Land Donation:
We are rapidly outgrowing our current boarding facility. Our main goal is to obtain our own facility in the upcoming year.
We hope to find a ranch property with room for up to 30 horses. Running our own facility would enable us to care for more horses and be on-site twenty-four hours a day. We are interested in purchasing or leasing, and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in purchasing land in partnership with other investors.
Veterinary Care:
Horses arrive in need of proper nutrition, shoeing, wound care and vaccinations.
Some require stitches, anti-inflammatories, liniments and pain management. Others might need minor surgery or routine injections for arthritis.
Clearly, vet service fees vary depending on each horse's condition. Since veterinarian care can cost many thousands of dollars per year, we greatly appreciate any donation amounts we receive.
Farrier Services:
Excellent hoof care is a
crucial component of good
health for a horse. For
optimal comfort and
mobility, our horses are
shod every six weeks
(approximately 8 times per
year). Many of our horses
require extensive corrective
shoeing initially to get them
on the road to recovery.
Trims and full shoeings can
cost $60.00 to $160.00 each.
Annual sponsorship:
$5000.00 provides: a year of board/shelter (including feed twice per day), full farrier and veterinarian care, body and dental work, grooming and supplement products for one horse.
Tack & Supplies:
Equisect Fly Spray, fly traps (bags), Valentines or HoofMaker hoof conditioners, used halters & lead ropes and saddles & pads, used bridles, rain blankets and hoods, buckets, medicated or conditioning shampoos, rags, sponges, Davis hoof "boots", brushes, self sticking bandages (vet wrap), gauze pads or rolls, Betadine, Blu-kote, brooms and rubber curry combs are incredibly appreciated!
Equipment/Materials:
Sonder Ranch is seeking in-kind donations of used equipment such as a three horse goose-neck or bumper-pull horse trailer, small tractor, and ATV or similar type vehicle.
We are also in need of barn kits, fence materials and gates with hinges.
Supplements:
We feed LMF Stage 1 and LMF Senior grains, Source Micronuggets, EquiAid Psyllium,
Ivermectin complete wormers, and Farrier's Formula for dietary and hoof needs. We utilize Nimble Supreme (glucosamine) for arthritic joints and powdered slippery elm and red clover leaf for digestive and immune system issues.
An all-around years supply for a healthy animal averages $100.00 per year.
Care for weight, joint, hoof or digestive issues can cost $300-600.00 per year.
Not every horse needs grain or glucosamine but they all benefit from worming and psyllium throughout the year.
Bodywork and Training:
To aid in rehabilitation and to maintain each horse's health and strength, we utilize a variety of exercise and stretching techniques. Some horses require bodywork (muscle reconstruction, similar to acupressure) to help them recover from injuries. T-touch modalities are utilized to encourage faster healing and to minimize discomfort. Regular exercise is vital to keep horses from getting bored or pasture sour. Each formal training lesson is $65.00 and each body work session is $75.00. On average, our horses participate in one formal training session per month, and they receive bodywork four times per year.
Advertising/Merchandise:
In-kind donations come
in the form of radio announcements, printing and publications (flyers, copies, photos, powerpoint), subscriptions for grantseeking at The Foundation or GuideStar, and website maintenance. Promotional signs and screen print products and services are also greatly appreciated. Fundraising Capital:
Catering and entertainment services, beverages, products and services for raffles and silent auctions, venue and event insurance fees, public event staffing and one time advertising are some of the many ways you can donate to Sonder Ranch's fundraising efforts.
Professional Services: Bookkeeping, legal and grantwriting services are of tremendous benefit to our corporation.
